Set up conveyors by placing station machines in processing order and connecting each machine's output to the next machine's input. Run one material through the shortest useful line before adding a branch.

Plan the material path

Pick the final product, then work backward through its ingredients. Place the machine that receives the raw input first, followed by the machines that use its output. Leave enough room to inspect the connections between them.

Connect the line one handoff at a time

Feed a small batch into the first machine. Check that it appears at the next input before you connect a downstream branch. When two ingredients meet at one machine, test each ingredient path separately.

Find where a batch stops

If material moves along one belt but never arrives at the next machine, examine that connection. If all ingredients arrive and there is still no output, check the machine's power and whether the output has somewhere to go.

See Main Sequence on Steam for the official game information.

FAQ

What are conveyors for?

They connect station machines so materials can move between production steps.

How do I check a new line?

Follow one batch from its first input to the final output. Stop at the first missing handoff.

When should I add more belts?

Expand when you know which ingredient or route needs more capacity. Adding a belt before testing the line makes problems harder to locate.
